Dana Shortt is an entrepreneur, culinary professional, and hospitality expert best known as the founder of Dana Shortt Gourmet & Gifts. She launched the beloved Waterloo Region specialty food business in 2004 and sold it in 2024 after two decades of growth and innovation.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Hotel and Food Administration from the University of Guelph, along with a Culinary Management diploma from George Brown Chef School.

Throughout her career, Dana has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Fairmont Culinary Excellence Award (2003), the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2007), Canada's Mompreneur of the Year (2017), and the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award (11–50 employees) in 2023.

Today, Dana creates refined workshops and experiences centered around food, travel, hospitality, etiquette, flowers, and meaningful connection. She is a licensed Travel Advisor in Ontario, is currently completing a six-month etiquette certification program through The English Manner in the UK and is also a graduate of the Floret flower arranging program.

Beyond her work, Dana has always believed that businesses should be a force for good. Throughout her 20 years at Dana Shortt Gourmet and Gifts, she supported hundreds of charitable initiatives through monetary donations, gift baskets, fundraising events and countless community partnerships benefiting local charities, schools, hospitals, and non-profit organizations.

Today, Dana continues that commitment as an active member of the Women's Presidents Organization (WPO), the International Women's Forum (IWF), RevolutionHer, and the KidsAbility Musical Bingo Committee, reflecting her ongoing dedication to community, leadership, and meaningful connection.

Dana resides in Waterloo, Ontario with her family.
